Where’s Garrett. Cerro Catedral Bariloche July 2007

Garrett has been holding it down hard at Mammoth, travelling for fresh lines, trying new tricks and just got back from a 15 day trip to Alaska to slay big lines on his own terms.
Check out his blog at http://blog.garrett-russell.com/
So many cool photos and videos on there. You will want to add it to your favorites.
At SASS we are so lucky to have Garrett down for the whole season every year. His fresh & fun outlook on skiing/life and using the whole mountain as a park allows him to lead by example at SASS.
The first SASS grom session is coming together for 2008. Up and coming mini rippers such as Kyle Mack, Jacob Aaronsen, Shayna Aaronsen, Jack Herald are coming down to Argentina, stepping it up to learn some new tricks into pow, get strong for the contest season and get some footage and photos. Keeping in mind these kids are 10-12 years old and already working on 7’s & 9’s I personally cant wait to see the progression.

Photos by James Streater at Loon Mtn. Travis Moore has been crushing the East Coast with the kids hitting the Red Bull Finals, Burton AM contests, and training a group with their sights on the Grand Prix and the Open. The Open will be all time this year with the SASS family representing strong. Sean Ryan, Ally Carroll, Bobby Witty, Scott Kutchinski, Lynn Neil and more make a run for it in both Pipe and Slope.
Pep Fujas continues with his Hunting Yeti project…this such is a cool new way to look at allowing the public into the life of chasing snow 24/7. For free. Eric Pollard is leading the crew for the follow up to IDEA with Nimbus Entertainment, Poor Boyz Production, and K2 skis. SASS is strongly supporting this new film initiative and those companies and skiers involved.
Download a full HD copy of the video yourself to watch over and over again on your IPOD to inspire you as you travel in search of snow and fun.
Pep will be back at SASS for another year to crush lomito completos, brush up on his Spanish and slay anything and everything that is in front of him on his skis.

Chris Coulter came out of slopestyle contest retirement to make a presence at the Vans Cup in a big way this year. I was able to check it out in person as he stepped to the slopestyle course at Northstar on a colder and windy day and threw down with the best of them. With the most insane (and effective) stretching techniques known to man, Coulter gets after it, with everything he does. He is headed down for a full week at Silverton Mountain in SW Colorado to slay some lines with Skylar Holgate. SASS is excited to welcome back Chris for another year.

Bobby Witty The latest addition to Team SASS is Bobby Witty. We have known Bobby for the past 8 years and have watched him grow up riding with Scott Harris, Ryan and the Squaw Team and get better and better at snowboarding. After having qualified and made the cut of 16 for finals at this years Van’s cup, Bobby has proven he has what it takes to compete against the worlds best. With a cab 270 on to switch out on the 1st monster box features, a switch bs 5, nasty front 7’s tail and a perfect back 9 landed on his toes, Bobby stepped to the plate and delivered.

We are very excited to be having Bobby down for a month of training this year in Argentina, to work on all of his 9’s & 10’s and maybe add a few 12’s…get tons of footage and photos before heading to New Zealand for the OPEN. Hell yeah Bobby way to get after it. Brian Sullivan and Seb Latapie from SASS made the trip out to Tahoe to ride park, pow and trees for a week and chekc out the action.
SASS is proud to announce our first co-branded session with none other than MGT camps. Leanne Pelosi, Robin Van Gyn and the MGT crew are invading Argentina by storm and inviting any female shred that wants to join them to jump on board for the trip of a lifetime.

Come hit jumps into powder landings, hit up a huge resort, work on overall board control, play a little in the park, get sun on the deck, brush up on your Spanish before dinner. You decide what you want to work on at the SASS/MGT session for 2008 with a bunch of girls backing you up! Trade in your flip flops for snowboard boots for 17 days and get a little winter in your summer. MGT will be hitting Argentina July 25th-August 10th.
